Diamond Hill Dolls
For most of my life I have been a multi-media crafts person working as a jeweller and costume designer. I have been a doll maker since 2007 specializing in one-of-a-kind handmade cloth dolls.
Recently I have been making Jacqueline Wilson book character dolls for prizes for the Jacqueline Wilson magazine. Jacqueline Wilson also covets one of my dolls, in a recent interview she states her Diamond hill doll would be one of five things she would take from her home. I design and make these dolls in my studio at Waterloo London.
Inspired by the uniqueness of every face and character I come across, the need to create something beautiful to be treasured and passed on and a passionate love of textiles have all brought me to the path of doll making. My website is named after my favourite inspirational walk - up Diamond Hill Mountain in Connemara National Park, Letterfrack, Ireland and home to my Mother.
Designer and maker of one-of-a-kind, unique ragdolls. Each doll and outfit is individually hand crafted by myself from start to finish using quality fabrics, designer prints, antique lace, fine tulle and natural wools. No two dolls are ever the same, and they wear a removable limited edition outfit, or a one off design.
My design ensures their limbs are sewn on securely. They sit easily and are poseable. Their one-of-a-kind facial features are all hand embroidered along with my signature eyelash design. They are sewn and hand crafted to a high standard that will last and be able to be passed on to the next generation.
When all is finished I hand sign and date the doll underneath her clothing and they come gift wrapped in a presentation box or a fabric bag. My dolls are not just for christmas or just for children, many adults covet them for their interior spaces, they collect them, or as a gift for an old friend.
I also make custom dolls where you can determine how you would like your doll to look.
