Wire Lotus Handcrafted Accessories
I always like to stop and smell the flowers - and to study their shapes and patterns. This is where I get the most inspiration for my intricate designs. I'm also inspired by floriography, the Victorian practice of communicating subtle messages through the exchange of flowers. According to Kate Greenaway's beautifully illustrated 1884 book Language of Flowers, the lotus signified 'eloquence'. I hope that my designs will eloquently convey the statement you want to make.
Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, I moved to London in 2008 to study for a master's degree in Health, Community and Development. When I'm not at work in a London-based charity, I'm creating objets d'art, hoping for good gardening weather, looking for new recipe ideas, undertaking some overambitious DIY project, or planning my next international trip.
London based designer-maker Megan Knox creates custom, handcrafted bead and wire accessories for weddings, special occasions, and everyday wear. Hundreds - sometimes thousands - of tiny glass beads are hand stitched one by one to form sculptural, organic shapes. These intricately designed pieces are made with great care and attention to detail. With their timeless floral themes and quality craftsmanship, Wire Lotus accessories will undoubtedly be treasured heirlooms for generations.
