Eloise Hall cuts delicate moments of serenity, bringing the tranquil movements and colours of nature into the milieu of modern life. As a girl, Eloise discovered the timeless movements of nature, spending days roaming the woods and fields of Hampshire. From a London studio overlooking her garden, Eloise continues to explore the romance of the natural world. Using the materials and symbolism of Eastern traditions, Eloise balances a colourful joy with the still mysticism of wild spaces. Koi Carp, Swifts and Butterflies flow through her work with a symbolic elegance that invokes a playful sense of wonder. Before crafting collages, Eloise founded a highly successful millinery label, Eloise Hats. She has also worked in a global advertising agency, run a luxury vintage clothes shop and transformed the house of Henry Moore into the museum it is today. Eloise's luxuriant collages, cut by hand from authentic chiyogami paper and embellished with delicate strokes of oriental ink, re-energise traditional lines of elegance in spellbinding style. Her artwork carries rare thoughtfulness. Each creature is symbolic: Koi Carp for fortune, two butterflies for love, butterflies in general for renewal and rebirth, birds representing the supernatural link between heaven and earth.
Eloise Hall celebrates nature with her delicate and peaceful collages created with origami paper and oriental ink. Her designs have recently been translated onto a new range of stationery.
