Jewellery Designs by Sarah Birt
I am originally from the West Midlands where I studied History and History of Art before moving to London in 2007 in search of bright lights and those fabled yet strangely elusive streets paved with gold.I found, to my surprise, that they were actually paved with silver after studying a jewellery making course at Morley College in September 2009. I have always had ideas for jewellery that I would like to wear myself but no one ever seemed to make exactly what I wanted. Now I have several sketch books, which accompany me everywhere and I quickly try to jot down my ideas when I get inspiration. I am particularly inspired by art, history, film and books and use sterling silver and precious stones to recreate my sketches in an illustrative style.
A whimsical collection of handmade sterling silver jewellery with precious stones. There are moon bunnies, castles, pirate ships, dancing foxes and vikings. All designs are based on my drawings and many pieces are unique or limited edition. I often use aquamarines, rubies, sapphires and opals and also sell vintage and antique trinkets that I find and restore.
