Landscape inspired kiln formed glass vessels, infusing cultural visits and evoking the beautiful and the unusual within the glass vessels.Maria Badshamiah was awarded a BA (Honours) at Nottingham Trent University, where she specialised in glass. She is a glass artist and illustrator based in Nottingham since graduating.Maria takes her inspiration from the architecture, landscape from Spain &Greece for previous work. She uses warm colours to show this. Her work is both abstract and illustrative. She seeks to strive for a contemporary feel to all her work.Marias’s fused glassware vessels are usually unique works, they are layered glassware, line-inspired vessels and abstract forms,some with encapsulated copper inclusions with rich colours, line and texture. Her landscape inspired vessels show an appreciation for the outdoors, with layers of fused glass both with an illustrative and abstract feel that are used in layers to give a 3D aspect to her work.Vibrant colours, depth of line and interesting free flowing forms are characteristics of Maria’s work. With the decorative and functional vessels that capture the light beautifully evoking a sense of peace and tranquillity to a home either standing alone or being accompanied by a beautiful arrangement of flowers within the vases. The wide range of colours ensures that they are suitable to any room.
